We had three most successful photography trips in 2023. It started off with three weeks in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in South Africa/Botswana in January, a month in Etosha, Namibia
during August and a few days in the underground hides of Zimanga in South Africa in October.
During 2023 I actively participated in some of the major international photographic competitions (e.g. UK Natural History Museum i.e. the WPoTY, NPoTY, BPoTY) and made it into the finals with some images in all of them. Locally I won the bird category in the South African Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition and my winning image was published in 5 newspapers in SA (see the Awards section).
I am very honoured to have been elected as the Program Director of the PSA (Photographic Society of America’s) Portfolio Distinction panels. It is a privilege to work with highly honoured and recognised international assessors and committee members. Portfolio entries are international, from all over the world and it broadens my insight into various different genres.
Another major highlight was when the FIAP News Editor (Bronwyn Casey) asked me to write three articles for publication on Remote Wildlife Photography Trips in Africa (see ”Educational” under ”Gallery”). The FIAP Newsletter is read by thousands of international photographers.
More news in a few months’ time….
